Background & Rationale This project extends the Community Assessment I conducted in 2024 during my Health Minister's course at Wesley Theological Seminary. That assessment focused on the area surrounding New Beginnings Church of God of Prophecy in Prince George's County, evaluating for food swamps or food deserts, and surveying local faith-based organizations near Doctor's Community Hospital regarding participation in revitalizing the hospital's Community Garden. Review of the Community Health Assessment (CHA) for Doctor's Community Hospital highlighted persistent unmet needs in food access and healthcare access in this catchment area. These findings underscore the importance of engaging local stakeholders in sustainable interventions to reduce disparities.
